British singer-songwriter Myles Smith has always thought that great songs are like chapters from one’s personal life story. His debut album My Mess, My Heart, My Life proves just how accurate that insight is. Released on June 19 2026 the 15-track LP fuses raw feelings, storytelling, and uplifting melodies into a musical diary that intimately resonates with listeners who dismiss manufactured music.

Smith spent his formative years in Luton where he found the music early and learned the guitar and piano on his own by the age of nine. But, it was the written wordpoetry, journals, and the quiet reflections found in booksthat influenced his way of songwriting. During interviews, he affectionately recalls how therapy notes from the last five years formed the foundation of this record. At first, they were private scribblings on sleepless nights turned into songs that tell stories like chapters in a book. Each track depicts a phase of struggle love self-discovery, and messy human nature, converting individual exposure into a collective and anthemic experience.

The concept of the album is quite straightforward. My Mess, My Heart, My Life is a depiction of life without the necessity of things being finalized or resolved. Rather, Smith through an album featuring songs like “My Mess” shares some of his personal experiences through the medium of music such that even the readers of his work could imagine him barely reaching adolescence. And, he has tasked the assistance of mentally ill individuals with the production of a very sensitive material “Sertraline”. Instead of simply being listens, these compositions are quite literally stories built around folk-pop tunes that explode into magnificent choruses in a concert setting.

The regulars who simply loved his debut single “Stargazing” can now enjoy that masterpiece which is brilliantly and comfortably placed in this album. The very air that one breathes and the feeling of amazement are the themes that make the album track the song where all along it has been known to be connected. The composition was inspired by a sun-kissed moment in Malibu and was so lovely that it captured the same turn in romance that is the hallmark of great literature. The rich and engaging tone of Smith’s voice enables the listeners to feel as though they are being vibed the tale of a good book. The features comprise: a joint with Ed Sheeran which evokes Irish folk music thereby resembling immortal ballads, and another one with Niall Horan which just the sincerity without pretense.

Among the features that make this great debut a remarkable piece of work is Myles storytelling skills. His several years of experience touring with his idol has mainly been influening his songwriting style even though he also looks at the musical and literary creations and history of Ronald Seaton aka Ed Sheeran and Marcus Mumford. In one of the many chat, he revealed how reading helped him cope during the most difficult of times meaning that it had a deep impact on the way he composes those lyrics which linger like well-written prose. This has led to the kind of music that not only sounds classic and literary but is actually inspired by literature. At the same time, it is cleverly therapy-inspired, honest, and anthem-like in a celebratory way. All the pieces show different stages of the journey from open-mic nights to world tours.
